ZEISS O-DETECT
ZEISS O-DETECT is the most recent addition to the ZEISS Optical Series. Featuring many unique functions, O-DETECT instantly and accurately captures components that cannot be touched.
ZEISS O-DETECT
Entering the world of optical metrology ZEISS O-DETECT
ZEISS O-DETECT is high-accuracy optical measuring equipment featuring camera sensors. Equipped with high-resolutions ZEISS Digital Zoom, INVENTA D1, ZEISS O-DETECT even guarantees length measurement error MPE_E(in 3D) despite only using an image sensor to take measurements. Moreover, in addition to the camera for measurement, an overview camera capturing the entire measurement range and ZEISS ZAPHIRE software enable excellent operability as well as simple and swift teaching.
Carl Zeiss optical technology boasting a long-established tradition – An all-new optical system for O-DETECT -
O-DETECT is equipped with an innovative digital zoom camera that condenses the optical technology cultivated by Carl Zeiss over many years.
This makes O-DETECT the first in its class to achieve a constant, wide field of view (8 mm x 7 mm) at the same time as achieving a high pixel resolution of approximately 3 μm.
・Equipped with distortion-free lens from world-renown lens maker, Carl Zeiss
・Equipped with a high-resolution image sensor to achieve both a wide FoV and high resolution
・Lighting technology cultivated in the microscope field for clear capturing of shapes
Leveraging the above technologies, ZEISS O-DETECT is optimal image measuring equipment suited to a wide range of applications, from macro to micro, regardless of material, color, and shape.
ACCURACY – First image measuring equipment guaranteeing EU XYZ (3D) 2.4 + L/150 µm -
Regular image measuring equipment can only guarantee EU XY (2D) on the XY plane in a measurement space. In other words, they can only accurately measure flat workpieces. By contrast, ZEISS O-DETECT guarantees EU XYZ (3D), meaning it guarantees accuracy not only in the X and Y directions but also the Z direction, thus is capable of precise measurement in the overall measurement space including height. Moreover, ZEISS O-DETECT complies with ISO 10360-7 and boasts the extremely unique feature of guaranteeing three-dimensional length measurement error. This is the first attempt at such a feat on entry-class image measuring equipment and an important point for Carl Zeiss, who developed ZEISS O-DETECT based on a concept of exceeding the status quo of image measuring equipment. Going beyond the conventional mindset that image measuring equipment is for 2D, ZEISS O-DETECT provides reliable measurement results even for three-dimensional workpieces.
Simple measurement and program creation – Overview image function -
ZEISS O-DETECT features the unique function of an overview camera. This camera captures the overall measurement area and navigates measurement points. Conventionally, the monitor and operational panel has to be operated alternately and repeatedly in order to measure specific points. With this overview image function combined with control software, “ZEISS ZAPHIRE,” the user can arbitrarily decide the measurement point from the software screen. ZEISS O-DETECT operation only requires a computer keyboard and mouse and enables overwhelmingly simple and swift program creation. Also, the ZEISS ZAPHIRE software features a user interface based on the “Blue Line” concept which focuses on the key words of “from top to bottom, left to right,” thus offering customers simple and intuitive operations.
